Quiz Night Sold Out!

The St Michael’s Quiz Night has become an annual institution, and one that is growing in popularity. This year’s, on 7th March, it was packed and people had already been turned away days before. As usual, the event was organised by John and Jill White, and there was a new set of rounds including some imaginative sets of questions such as the round using London Underground stations as cryptic clues. An excellent meal was provided, using fairly traded or locally sourced produce and accompanied by Fairtrade wine.

This fulfilled the objectives of Sandhurst Fairtrade Group, headed by Jill, which is to support local farmers and producers as well as communities in developing countries. Thanks are due to Jennie Hulbert, Chris Pocock and Gillian Davies who helped prepare and serve the food, and to those who donated raffle prizes. The evening was greatly enjoyed by all who came, as well as promoting the principles of Fairtrade and raising over £800 towards church funds, which will help St Michael’s to fulfil its commitment to give away part of its income to support a number of charities, both locally and abroad.
